HI there Happy New Year everyone.
I am experiencing a problem. My Nikon D5100 is no longer taking clear shots. The quality has gone way down, I have been reusing the memory card for about three years now. Could that be the problem? The photos are now looking like there is a haze over them. I never had this problem before. I have not changed a thing in the way I take the shots. I took it to a local camera store and the guy cleaned the camera but it doesn't help.
Igot the camera from Andorama a few years ago.
I am really very distressed about this. I cannot afford a new camera at this time. Can anyone help me on this?
Thank you.

Maybe you have changed something in the shooting menu
Try going to vivid and see if it changes

Go to factory reset first

Factory reset can be pretty drastic for advanced users. But for a noob, or non-techie, it can be a way to gain reassurance that the camera still works fine.

Just be sure to test the camera after the reset. Then check ALL the settings and restore any you want different from the defaults.

Are you kidding? This has been and continues to be a pet peeve of mine on this forum.
Very few people seem to take the time to read the replies, from beginning to end, before answering. And it gets worse as the page numbers increase.
UHH is absolutely the worst forum I have ever encountered in this regard: the lack of reading all the replies before answering.

And they say that kids today don't read... ;-)

Are these pix satisfactory - or at least acceptable?

I think you may not be using spot focus, because the eyes are not in sharp focus. Always in portraiture, you MUST focus on the eyes. With a fast short tele lens at wide aperture, focus becomes critical because your DOF is so limited. The exposure appears to be correct, and for baby portraits you don't want high contrast. Even so the contrast in these shots is much better than in the first shots you posted.

Wow while I appreciate your expertise, I have to take notice of your tone with us. Are you annoyed for some reason?
This is a site for everyone who is interested in photography and I am sure you can understand that it doesn't feel too good when you
"scold" people. Everyone has their own way of seeing, thinking and helping.
Take it easy.

Now that is hilarious. You are scolding folks for not reading the thread while, apparently not reading the thread yourself. The comment to which you replied was addressing a response to a guy who stated, tongue-in-cheek that he had the same issue, so he bought a D850. That was humor injected into to this thread and not really associated with the main point of the thread. Had you actually read the thread, you would have understood this. See page 2 of this thread.

No what is "Round top"?

Round Top is a little town down the road from the former Catskill Game Farm.
Some friends of mine own a B & B there called the Woodlands. It’s owned by some former NYC teachers.
One of my best friends was part owner. He was killed in a very bad accident on Halloween night in 1999.
A logging truck hit the cab he was in. All were killed except for one.
