Very well done with sharp focus, great light and clarity. This is what I'm striving for. My photos are just ho-hum when compared to these. vz
Hi vz! Thank you for your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed. I just sent a private message with ideas on some of your bird images where some minor changes will help on sharp focus and the "light" for birds such as these. Hopefully, these ideas will help in your own quest.

Thank you Rick! While touring the Tucson area, I had the sensation of planning to return to Chicago, place my place for sale, and move right back to Tucson. The whole area was really neat.
Your birds take my breath away. Beyond beautiful.
Wonderfully done! Thanks for sharing.
Well done, Paul. That barn owl is a beauty. My wife and I are doing a southwest Texas to Arizona trip in about a month. That museum and Saguaro NP are on the itinerary. Looks like it will be a fun time. Do you have a recommendation as to the East vs. West parts of Saguaro?
Btw, the older I get the less I care for this winter weather in Illinois. However, if you have time, go to Starved Rock Park or the locks and dams on the Mississippi now that you have your BIF skills honed. The eagles are amazing this winter.

Thank you Greg! I've been to the Saguaro NP on two different trips to Tucson. For a full day and some walking around, I've done the East side starting early in the morning and drove across Tucson to be at Signal Hill around 4PM for a golden sunset. This idea does depend on the day's weather. This recent trip, I hiked in Tucson Mountain Park (west side of Tucson) and then drove north to Signal Hill and hiked away from the petroglyphs for about an hour on the Cactus Wren trail before coming back to Signal Hill. That day was great but not as golden at sunset as the prior trip. I haven't been much in the West side other than around Signal Hill. Both the West and East sides have monstrous Saguaro as well as the Tucson Mountain Park where I hiked around Brown Mountain.
Great tip on Starved Rock. I didn't know I cound find eagles that close to Chicago.

What a fantastic series of photographs. All are Wall worthy in my mind. Thanks for sharing them with us in subzero weather. LOL. Cheers.
Thank you flathead27ford! I just got back from the USPS shipping a lens. Today at 17F seemed like spring after colder temps ... Glad you enjoyed.
Thank you all for your comments kpmac, PH CIB, rmm0605, Erv, Chalybeateman, Chalybeateman1, sirlensalot, arperry Glad you enjoyed.
The Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Garden in Palm Desert, California is another beautiful and amazing place for flora and fauna photography. If you like the place in Tuscon, don't neglect this little gem in California. Has anyone visited?

The snowy owls have been down our way this year too--along Lake Michigan from Sheboygan to Waukegan. Winter is hard to take in Illinois but there are a few rewards!
