I am going to purchase my first 70-200. I shoot with a Nikon D7000, but cannot afford the Nikon lens. I was looking at the Tamron and the Sigma both with the stabilization. Has anyone used these lenses and if so what do you think about them. I am planning on using them for outdoor/indoor sports and wildlife.

The most current version of both models are exemplary lenses!
I had the Sigma non os. great lens but big and heavy.
I have the Tamron and it is my favorite lens including myCanonL glass. They also have a good warranty. The resale value of the Nikon glass is better if you can afford
The Tamron G2 version gets excellent reviews, auto focus speed, VC & sharpness are very good. The Sigma is an older design, there is no Art version of the 70-200 yet. Unless you get a super deal on the Sigma, get the Tamron. I use the Nikon VRII version, which is great. If I didn’t have it I would be looking at the Tamron.
Tony Northrup does a 70-200 comparison youtube video. He claims the Tamron is short of the 200mm but sharp. May want to check out the video. Not sure how old it is.
