I'm looking for a backpack to take overseas with me as a carry on bag in the plane which will fit my canon 600d, and 3 lenses 15-85, 70-200 f4 L and 50mm f1.8 as well as shaving gear, a macbook air and maybe an extra t shirt and change of underwear. It can't be too bulky as I will want to use it as a camera bag when I get overseas. It wold help if it also had easy access to the camera. There are a bewildering array of bags available and I would value advice from the forum

How about a Compu Daypack? I got mine at Best Buy and I love it. I think it was around $85. The only thing I'm not sure of is if it will fit the 70-200.

I bought mine for a trip to Florida and it worked out great.

Thanks, I think the 70-200 may be a problem but I'll check it out at the camera shop

I have the Lowpro Fastpack 350 for traveling. It has room enough for everything I need, Camera, Lenses, Laptop, tripod, ect. Plus some clothing and other travel necessities. It is a little big, but It gets the job done and is very well made and keeps your gear safe (Good Padding). It also has some cool features like quick access to your camera, an mp3 player or cell phone pouch on the strap next to your chest and other things too many to list. Check it out on Amazon as I believe there is a video that shows all the features.

I have had the Lowepro backpack 4 years held up to some ruff treatment and protected equipment. Wish mine was smaller. Holds more than I wan to carry.

I don't think you can beat Think Tank. You can certainley beat their price but for rugged and functional I think they are great. Have sling Bag, one of their Back Packs, a Roller Board and a couple shoulder bags. All have rain hoods and lots of extras. Parachute Nylon, etc...Worth a look..Skip

The Lowepro Vertex 300 AW is a good bag and carry on legal:
http://products.lowepro.com/product/Vertex-300-AW,2074,16.htm

If you think this one is overkill, then go with the 200 AW. You can find good prices on ebay for it.

Hope this helps.
