Smoken, I am so glad your son can go on to school. Not everyone has that opportunity. And not everyone has the intellectual ability. Doesn't matter whether they leave for college, work, or group home living, it is hard to let go. For me it's the stark realization that time is moving much too fast and that I cannot be there to protect. I've had friends say the most difficult thing is to establish an adult relationship with your adult child. Is he going far away?
No, he is staying in town. WVU has his field of study and program. I always kiddingly said my Daughter needed the experience of moving away (she went to Alabama), but my son needed a home confinement bracelet.
I am very lucky to have two good kids who are moving on wtih their lives, and yes, I am tired and time has flown. Now its my turn to fly - mostly to sunny beaches and such! :D I'll take pictures.
