Didn't realize this lack of clarity. Sorry. I have updated my post to make it clear who I meant. Thanks for pointing it out.

I just checked and I made his blacklist also. I really don't care but he comes across exactly like many see him. A condescending conceited arrogant person who must lead a lonely real world life and has nothing more to share than simpleton questions. And so many sheep seem to be letting him lead them.

"Amateur Photographer until 1972, when I turned professional, and exhibited some of my work at the Alexis Nihon Plaza in Montreal. Since then, I've run both my own studio, and have worked at various other studios, and labs, along the way - both in NYC, and in NJ and CT
I've also worked for Olan Mills as a portrait photographer, on the road, throughout much of the Northeast USA. Currently retired."

He states this in his profile but his topic posts are not anything worth reading. If he is who he says he sure does not show it. You would think someone with all that know how would share it intentionally or through his replies unintentionally and he does neither.

The way ignore list is implemented on the UHH the posts do not reflect the people on the forum. If one (like Chissy) starts a lot of threads so that his threads dominate the forum. Then he put all the members with knowledge on his ignore list. That would make the forum in which the majority of the posts are nonsense and all the responses are positive to those nonsense.

Well, you don’t have to read much to know that those threads are not intended for any kind of intelligent conversation, just idle chit chat. The fact that so many do participate indicates to me that that is what a large number of members like. Not the type of crowd I want to be associated with!

The ignored list means nothing and only places a notation (ignored) by their name. This was a wonderful site until Chris T came along and virtually took it over rather easily. I check back in from time to time to see if he is gone. He has an unrealistic sense of superiority and expresses it through questions and narcissistic answers. I tried to ignore him and I asked him to provide images so we could see his work and judge for ourselves, his skills. I don't know why his postings rub me so badly, but they do. I have allowed him to totally ruin my enjoyment of UHH. I feel he imagines that he is sitting on a throne looking down at the rest of us and blessing us with questions. He has a right to be here and I cannot argue with that — but — he has destroyed my experience with UHH.

Hi David, I totally agree with you on your thoughts on Chris T. I don't mind the questions so much, but it is his replies back to people that answer his questions. Don't disagree with him, tell him he is wrong, or state your thoughts or opinion on any subject because like you said, his unrealistic sense of superiority and narcissistic answers, along with his obnoxious attitude and condescending replies to people are what get to me. Since he ignored me I can no longer reply to his posts, not that I care to anyway, but being ignored doesn't stop you from reading his posts if you choose to. Up until yesterday I had been occasionally looking at them and then closing them. But his reactions to a couple of users yesterday and then ignoring them because they disagreed with him just set me off and I made this post.

Everyone has a right to be here, post questions, and reply to members. Just show some respect to other members, and if you don't agree, let it be at that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and you are not always going to agree with everybody all the time.

Its not other Hogs ignoring Chris T, he is the one doing the ignoring. If you question what he writes, don't agree with him, tell him he is wrong, he ignores you.

Do you guys really don’t have anything better to do?

The only person who has any say so is the ADMIN. If he hasn’t banned wrongy and jimbob by now, what do you think are his chances to be suspended?

How would you feel if you were attacked by so many like Chris? He is not mean, unlike the 2 members I mentioned, all he does is ask questions.

There are so many other active threads every day, why not focus on any one of those? Or better yet, try improving your photography by actually taking more pictures. Complaining about another member who hasn’t done anything to you is never going to improve your skills.

Totally agree. I just joined his list of ignored people, which is not a bad thing. I question everything about him, especially his experience. His questions reveal an inability to grasp fundamental concepts, and nearly all of his topics can be prefaced by the phrase "hypothetically speaking . . ." which means he lacks real practical experience when it comes to photography. If indeed he owns the cameras and lenses he claims, then that would make him a camera collector, not a photographer.

If enough people rag on him, eventually he will blacklist everyone.

It's unfortunate that his questions come up on a daily basis - 2 and 3 at a time. If only there was a way, like in Facebook, that you can "really" block someone, so that you don't see anything they post and vice versa. I don't use "ignore" but I might consider a complete shutdown of anything from ChrisT if it were possible. It's a shame that the admin(s) don't recognize the damage a troll can cause in a forum, and how allowing it to continue reflects badly on how the forum is run. He contributes nothing but nonsense and controversy.

The problem is Gene, as another user stated, if he keeps ignoring knowledgeable users, and if he keeps ignoring them, then when he posts info that is wrong and irrelevant, there won't be anyone to question him about his erroneous information. Some of the stuff he says, I don't know where he gets it from. I guess thats the one thing about the internet is that anyone can post info about a product and there will be those that read it and take it for the truth.

I don't question his right to start threads and ask questions, every member has that right, but when others do reply with an answer to the questions that he asked, he shouldn't act and reply back to them like he does. He doesn't seem to care if you rag on him as he just puts you on his ignore list. Thats his modus operandi.

There isn't much need to tell him that he is wrong but I think there is a need to tell other members that he is wrong. Otherwise, others who are new to photography think what he said is right as there is nobody that can say that he is wrong. When an inexperienced member reads his thread and there is nobody post anything in the contrary (because they can't) then such a member may think that what he said is right.

Tom, its not that he just asks questions. It how he responds back to the other members that reply to his questions, and then he ignores them. And who "attacks" poor Chris T? People are simply replying to is posts, and he is the one who at some point replies back is a obnoxious, condescending, arrogant manner to those members when they don't agree with him or have different opinions than he does. IMO, he doesn't show respect to anyone that either thinks differently than he does or has differing opinions on a subject than him.

And yes, you are right, there are other members that are as bad or worse than him. On a forum such as this, it is a given that there will be members like the ones you mention and Chris T. If you are going to ask people in a forum opinions on a subject, you better be prepared for differing opinions than your own. If you can't accept those differing opinions then you shouldn't be on here asking all the questions every day. Either that or don't be so thin skinned when you get a response you don't like.

When someone like Gene51 gets ignored for responding to him, that says something to me. Gene is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful people here on UHH IMO.

Just my 2¢.

I think you've got a point there. Right after Christmas he made a comment that he has been alone during the holidays for the past 15 years. I agree that he can be very annoying, but that comment has caused me to view him with a bit more compassion (although I still get out the popcorn when viewing his posts! ).
