Disappointing game for the Los Angeles Rams. I thought they'd do better.

Probably playing like they did when they were the St. Louis Rams. Glad they left. They were losers. Husband had PSL seats, but quit going after a few years because they lost so much. He was also a Rams fan when we lived in the L.A. area. I've attended two Rams game, the first being in 1962 as a date with the man now my husband. The other was in St. Louis when I took a friend of mine to a pre-season game because she was a Rams fan.

Number 2. Let me explain it to you how this works: Kaepernick does not make this country great. What does, makes this country great, is the fact that he does it, And is allowed to. How would you like it if you did that in a suppressive country and the penalty was a bullet in the head? Or in a 'free' country like Spain, that is a felony to make a fist in public.

In many countries in the world, to says things like we do, about our leader(s) will get you jail time.

We may not like it, but I respect his right to do it. The NFL has its share of faults, but letting Kaepernick and company kneel while the anthem is playing, is just being a good American company. Like it or not.
Number 1: Colin Kaepernick is *NOT* a functional ... (show quote)

I wasn't speaking of just him. I knew he graduated from UNR. I also know he was given up by his white mother and adopted by an upper-class white family. I guess he is under the impression if he wears an Afro he feels he has a better understanding of African Americans. How could he? He is biracial.Raised in a white upper-class environment. Where were you able to find out "He graduated in the top of his class" What exactly is the top of a class? What is the number? I will stand by past comment about football players and the level of functional illiteracy. These players have the perception that the police kill more black people than white. In that they are wrong. From January 1 to December 31st you add up the numbers and the cops kill more white people than black people. The media doesn't cover cops killing white people. If these players were truly interested in helping black people they should use their celebrity to hammer at them the all the reasons to stay in school get an education. Learn an employable trade. Do not drop out of school. Do not commit crimes. No one owes an uneducated person a job.
The greatest threat to black people is other black people. Not white people. Black people kill black people by the hundreds. Black people are shot, assaulted, raped, robbed by the thousands by other black people. To me, one of the reasons for continued poverty is beside lack of education and two-parent families. About 55-60% of black children are born out of wed lock. The male who donated his sperm to create this child is sadly in the wind. He does not accept his financial or assume any personal responsibility for his child .....children. This of course does not include all black males. The taxpayer supports those children. Some of these children grow up without the benefits of a mother and father helping them.
So, after the season is over and there is no kneeling and life goes on. What grand involvement will they have in helping people? Probably the same as in the past. Not very much. So if these guys want to do something great other than kneeling. What has that accomplished? Nothing great there. Just a statement. Get involved in the community. That would be doing something great.

.....it ***IS*** their right to do so. The NFL took the right stance, to do nothing.

You are correct - it is their right. Others have the right to not care, to not watch, and to speak freely their opinions about the kneelers. The NFL also has the right to do nothing, they also have the right to not allow it. They choose a direction that some people don't like and those people are expressing their right.

I'm on the fence about Trump calling them out. He didn't use the government to forcibly prohibit them from kneeling but it may come off as intimidation as he is the President. I'm going to go with he has a right to his opinion, too - the players obviously were not intimidated and he didn't do anything to stop them.

Anyway, seems like it is all good. Everyone got to air their opinion.

One other thought: Kapernick doesn't have a right to play in the NFL as some (not you) think - the NFL is a non-governmental organization and the teams are private businesses. If the teams view Kapernick as toxic they just won't hire him - and apparently that is the situation.
