I just discovered Ugly Hedgehog, and i just so happened to get a brand new camera as a gift from my dad. I have loved photography for the longest time, and i finally have a camera of my own to have fun with. I am an amateur, obviously, and i am a huge animal lover. My three dogs are a huge part of my life, and you guys will be seeing a lot of them. :) -Alia

For example: This is my beautiful Rotweiler named Cindy.

Hi Ailia,

Welocome to UHH. I like this photo, Obviously I don't know yet where you are upto in your photography. That said, I would suggest that using digital cameras means that YOUR SHOTS COST NOTHING. So if you are shooting your dog, shoot lots and lots, vary your position in relation to the dog eg lie on the floor near to your pet and just keep shooting away. Dogs can and do have some fantastic facial expressions. Just keep the iris wide open ( to get shallow DOF) and when you start to go through you pics on the computer, I think you will find just one ot two stand out from the rest. If you have just one or two that you think WOW thats great, then others who view your photos could well also be saying WOW.. Good luck, keep practicing already you're producing some nice shots. you obviously have a good eye... Norman
