Psychiatric diagnosis is made by observing the behavior and speech of an individual: is it rational? Is it real? Is it in the end unhelpful for the patient? This CAN be done to some extent by observing the person's public behavior if you have enough material. It may be more difficult to know about hallucinations, etc. But to start with, if you look up the diagnostic criteria for "Narcissistic Personality Disorder", you can clearly determine that Trump manifests all required characteristics to make the diagnosis. Some of the characteristics of this disorder, such as "thinking that they can do no wrong" and "rules don't apply to me" make these folks moderately dangerous when they achieve power, which they often do - these people can be charismatic and strive for power and often end up in politics.

I seem to recall you being pretty bright. What happened? No one in their right mind would claim Obama is more of a narcissist than Trump. Argue that Trumps condition isn't that debilitating. You can argue lots of things that make Trump less terrible. To claim he isn't an extreme narcissist makes you look silly.
