How about a nice 135mm lens for your Sony E-Mount camera?

I have the Sony 18-105mm f4 for my A6500. I would love to see a image comparison between these two lenses. The 18-105 f4 has power zoom feature, great for smooth zooming in video. At first glance I would not want to lose that feature. I understand Sony wanting a higher magnification OSS zoom lens to bundle with its A6000 series cameras. But I wouldn't want to lose that extra stop of light gathering from f4-5.6 at the high end of its magnification. I also have a G-Master 70-200mm f2.8 so I would have no need to lose those stops of light.

But hey, the price point will mean this lens will sell and have happy owners. Just not on my wish list. Cheers !

For some reason the 18-105 F4 has become a very wanted lens. I invested in the 16 70 zeiss sony lens for my a6300 instead.
If is a great zeiss lens but sorry I didn't get the 18-105. Have a friend that uses it for his video reports business because the
lens is pretty sharp and the zoom is very good for video. I really want more FF lens for my a7s II but they are really expensive.
I would like the 16 32 2.8 G lens but it is over 2K crazy. Good thought Jerry.

This very interesting. I think it is the first aps-c E-mount lens that Sony has released in four or five years. Sony has been very productive with developing excellent FE lenses over the last couple of years but had neglected developing size/weight/price/performance appropriate lenses for its excellent and popular A6xxx series users. Sony seemed to be satisfied to delegate this market to third party manufacturers like Sigma, Voigtlander and Rokinon. I have to admit, this lack of development by Sony was a factor in my decision to up to a FF A7Rii.
I wonder how it will compare with the current 18-105 G OSS? It is at the same price point, but is only about 75% of the weight and size of the 18-105. If it is any good, this lens combined with an A6xxx could be a perfect travel package. I will be watching for reviews.

Thanks Jerry, but no one yet has a comparison of the new Sony 18-135 vs the Sony 18-105. That is the direct comparison that we need for this discussion.
