Looking to buy a decent, fully functional, not too expensive IR camera.
If you have one collecting dust on a shelf lets talk.
Thanks,
Rich

You might check with Life Pixel to see if they have any used ones, say as trade-ins. People shooting IR are not so likely to be fickle and "need" a new IR camera annually as many of the more mundane photographers out there.

I wish I could afford a newer IR camera. I have a converted Pentax K-100D (6.1 MP). I've thought of having my K-20D (14MP) converted but Life Pixel does not seem to like Pentax DSLRs much for conversion, only their mirrorless K-01 and P&S cameras. And I still use the camera for regular photography. Since IR cameras should be calibrated to one lens only you do not need a collection of lenses for your IR DSLR. One reason to have a IR P&S. For that reason I would not have a big problem with buying a different brand for a IR camera, say a converted Canon or Nikon. Me, I'd choose a "normal" prime lens, say a 50mm for a FF or a 35mm for a Crop Factor DSLR. But if you only like working with a WA or short telephoto, you could go that way. Zoom lenses can be iffy for IR. Life Pixel could advice for specific lenses I think. Again, Life Pixel and other IR Converters sell pre-converted cameras as well. Might be a good choice as they know those models and lenses work well as IR. From what I've learned often older sensors with lower pixel counts convert better. If fact my old K-100D that I purchased to have converted has a CCD and not CMOS sensor and so it converted really well.

I've rarely seen used IR cameras for sale on Amazon or eBay. You might find someone here on the UHH. I guess that is what you are trying. Good luck.

They are available on eBay at reasonable prices once in a while. I've purchased a converted bridge camera for $175 and later on a converted dslr for $225.

I have a converted Canon 60D that has been in a drawer for about 2 years that I would like to sell because I don't do infrared any longer. I paid $450 for it and the Life Pixel conversion about 3 years ago. It works great and takes all Canon lenses. Make me a decent offer and I will ship it to you.

Do research the various filters that may be used over the sensor and their effects and processing. What nm filters do the used ones have? Does the used camera come with an IR
calibrated lens? Questions you need answered.

Hello, this may be a long shot, but do you still have this camera, by chance?
