Why not contact MTshooter here on this forum. He runs a camera store. Would not hurt to ask him for a price on this.

I have used Green Toe successfully. Got wonderful discounts on mirrorless Lumix and lens from a certified Panasonic dealer- tax and shipping included.

My son called me today told me he is going to be purchasing new camera equipment and is planning on spending $9,000.00 for camera, lenses, filters, case, Mic and other misc items.
He asked me where l got my camera equipment from and told him B&H, but he was quoted to much money. Is there any other good internet stores to purchase camera equipment from at a good price? Has anyone used 42nd St. Photo, is there still a photo company on the west coast that does sales? I thought it was Seattle Photo l think?

I would like to hear from you on different places to purchase equipment from across the country with free shipping!

Bergen County Camera in Westwood, NJ. They are a family business that opened in 1980 and have survived in the backyard of the two big stores we all know in 'The Big Apple'.

https://www.bergencountycamera.com/

Ask for Bob, Paul or John. But anyone of their Team can and will be very helpful. They actually have a focus session every Saturday morning at 9:30 for tips, tricks, photo topics, and discussion; with anywhere from 30 - 60 people attending. They care about your photography.

Well going to greentoe to get 15% off of 9K is no chump change and it maybe either B&H or Adorama jumping on the order.

B and H will often jump on your bid as long as you are not a resident of New York or New Jersey. Same with Adorama. There are sales tax ramifications that they must adhere to. The price that you give to Green Toe must include tax and shipping. That’s why there are quite a few certified dealers who are from all around the country, who will pick up your bid, insuring you get the price that you bid. If it makes senses to them, they will accept your bid. A camera that I placed a bid on just 6 weeks ago was accepted by Cardinal Camera, a dealer in Pennsylvania that has 2 brick and mortar stores. Saved 100.00 plus shipping and tax. All dealers that are part of Greentoe network must be certified dealers and must sell brand new and not grey market.

When I was finally ready to buy my 1D Mk IV, they were literally out of stock everywhere. I found one at PictureLine in Salt Lake City. The sales people were wonderful to work with, and they went out of their way to find me one. Usually on new cameras and lenses the prices are sort of controlled by the manufacturers for legitimate sales outlets. So, if you find a "really good deal" on new equipment, beware.

First and foremost, stay away from 42nd Street Photo at all costs!

Your state of residence, or the state that the equipment will be shipped to will often determine taxability. If you live in a Sales Tax State, then you'll often be charged tax, if the shipping dealer has a presence in your state, this is especially true about Amazon. Because you didn't state where you or your son live, we can't make an educated response about Sales Tax.

My son wants to purchase the following: a Sony a99ii. Full Frame Lenses 24-70mm, 50 mm, 70-400mm, Rode Mic, Hoya +1+2+4 filters, UV and Polarizing filters for lenses, a hard shell case and two scan disk 64GB Pro SD Cards.

As others have suggested; B&H, Adorama, Cameta Camera and Hunt's Photo for new and used, or KEH for used equipment, and some have suggested Green Toe for a bid site.

Personally, I've only used B&H and Hunt's Photo. Both will ship for free with a large order like this one.

I usually go into the Hunt's main store in Melrose, MA, if I need some hands on handling of the equipment or technical assistance with anything. Because I live in NH, I can place the order and pay for it in store, and have them ship it to my home and avoid the sales tax. NH is a tax free state, and as long as I plan far enough ahead, I'll have them ship it and get it within 2 business days. I used to work about 8 miles from their store so it was more convenient then, but now I have about a 30 mile drive away in each direction.

Hunt's will do several Camera Shows across the country. They also host two semi-annual in-house dealer shows in May and October at their Main Store, where dealers will bring in their lines to expose them to customers who might not otherwise have access to so many different items in one place, and often there are dealer discounts that are offered during these events.

I would not recommend 42nd Photo, because they will not tell you the lower priced items are nearly always grey market. I have had good luck with Cameta and Adorama.

Greentoe sellers include B&H and Adorama, so your son is safe. You get 15% off of msrp.

B&H is not affiliated with Greentoe. We have no relationship with them.
I want to thank everyone here who recommended us and who posted praise about their experiences with us. It is very gratifying.
MSRP = manufacturer's suggested retail price. This is a widely understood fiction, and almost always has no relationship to what someone buying the item will actually pay.
MAP = Minimum advertised price. A decades-old program imposed on authorized retailers by distributors. It limits the lowest price which can be advertised and limits how the real selling price can be revealed. There are various rules for print ads, telephone sales and the internet. It has no impact on actual selling prices.
Unilateral pricing is a more recent program also imposed on authorized retailers by distributors. It limits the lowest price the product can actually be sold for. It is not price fixing and it is entirely legal in the USA.
Both MAP & unilateral price programs are strictly enforced and penalties to retailers for violations can be severs.

KEH sells perfectly reliable used equipment which usually shows up looking better than they rated it. If it arrives with a problem they take it back with no questions, but of course it doesn't come with a warranty like new equipment. They also sell new equipment. I have not compared their prices to B&H or Adorama, but based on my decades of dealing with them on used equipment I would not hesitate to buy new from them if their prices are competitive.

If it's Canon, call Profeel and talk with David. www.profeel.com They are in NY - free shipping - no tax - competitive pricing. Usually they will beat any quoted price.

Until your posting, I was surprised no one had mentioned www.profeel.com. I’ve ordered a few items (body and couple lenses) from them with good results especially for Canon. A portion of the “street prices” from Canonpricewatch are from Profeel. For clarity, manufacturers set a MAP minimum advertised price) for authorized merchants, so when an authorized merchant, like Profeel, negotiate a slightly lower price with an individual, the warranty is normally honored. That’s my experience any way.

Actually, Best Buy has started carrying high end camera equipment at some locations and is matching competitive pricing if their pricing is not already low enough. I just went to one the other day and played with several higher end cameras including a Nikon D500, Sony A9, A7R II, A6500, Canon 5D IV, 80D, Panasonic GH5 & GX85. They had several other brands and models in stock as well. In my area, they were the only company that had all the models I wanted to look at in stock. They also had a large lens selection for all the major brands as well.
