I am aware of several congressmen upset over some shenanigans that took place at the FBI involving both of the investigations into Hillary and Trump wanting several FBI agents to be investigated and if found to guilty of bias that effected the outcomes of those investigations those congressmen want those agents to be fired. That is quite a bit different than saying that the freedom caucus wants people purged because of their political affiliation. Strzok's emails suggest that he was acting against Trump based on his political ideology, I don't believe that either side wants people like that in positions of power that can use that power to damage political candidates or others for that matter. That is a big difference than what you are suggesting. There are civil service laws that protect government employees from political cleansing, but they hopefully won't protect them from wrong doing.
