How to transfer video via the Internet?

Hi,
I hope this is the correct forum. My son in Europe wants to transfer a series of one minute videos from his iPhone to me, here in the US. Email is rejecting the files because of the size. Any thoughts about a safe method? Facebook and social media are not an option for several reasons. Dropbox? Google Drive?
Thanks,
Steve

Dropbox, get the free version, you just have to empty it when full. You create it and give him access; share a folder. He then uploads and you download.

I use Google Drive, them you can share with anyone you want to, or get a link that anyone with the link can open.

DropBox and Google Drive are very good ways to transfer files or let several people see them. Doesn't MS have something like that? OneDrive?

MS does have One drive, but (hanging head) I haven't tried it yet, so I can't say how it works. It probably works just as well. Basically, I would think any cloud based service would work better than just email, due to file size. Many email providers limit files to 25M or less.

I use a free service called Hightail, works very well. It is not like drop box in that there is no software to install on you system. It is an FTP site that will allow large file transfer. You upload the file and the recipient downloads it on the other end. They have both a free and paid service.

I haven't tried it, so I can't speak to its ability, but I've seen Send Anywhere mentioned elsewhere.

WhatsApp is a free downloadable app that my kids and I communicate with internationally. They send video clips on it. We have it only on the phones, not computers.

I think WhatsApp compresses video though. If that's not an issue they should look good enough.

Flickr will work in addition to the other options mentioned. But I would suggest Dropbox.

Using WhatsApp, will highly compress the media, 100 to 1 approximately, it's OK for a quick view, but very poor quality. Here is what I do not like about Dropbox, to us it it must become resident on your system. Then it gathers and transmits information back to Dropbox, in the T&C that you agree to to use it Dropbox reserves the right to share your information with any partner company, this is an implied consent on your part to allow them to give away anything they can collect to third parties. I had a very bad experience with them some years ago 20 to 3 to be exact. My daughter was storing all her picture files and business contacts on their system when the file storage was free. At the point Dropbox was changing the free storage limit, and going to the pay to store program, they eliminated a significant amount of here stored files. She was unaware that was going to happen, some her fault for not reading her E-Mails that were sent. But when we contacted them to pay the fee to return the files, the response was that once deleted they could not be recovered. This was less than a week after the event. There was later a class action suit filed against them as some users lost highly valuable data. We later found out that much of the loss was due to negligence on the part of Dropbox. My daughter revived a check for 29.00 dollars, but lost hundreds of pictures of her children, and all her work files.

Friends and I have been using https://wetransfer.com/ for some time now with no problems. The service is free for files no larger than 2gb.
