Ansel Adams' famous line inspired by his love of music, "The negative is the score, the print is the performance."

I think it was Alfred Eisenstaedt

A quote from my teacher the first day of school many, many, years ago. “How many photograprers does it take to take 1 Photograph. The answer is 101. 1 to take the picture and 100 to tell you how you SHOULD have taken it”

Great quote--could you provide a source name for my quote collection? Thanks.

Don't know the exact quote or who said it but goes something like this: It's the twelve inches behind the camera that makes your shot either good or bad. That saying had an immense affect on the way I thought about photography when I first started. In fact it actually made me think before I released the shutter.

Another quote from a non-photographer: Samuel Taylor Coleridge (ca 1812): “all art is the balance between the external and the internal.”

"You can't do that with your camera!" .....My dad, when I was 13.

Never tell a teenager they can't do something and expect them not to try it.
