Printing on Discs

If you like to put still pictures, music, or video on discs, you may want to print graphics on them. I've been using SureThing Disc Labeler Deluxe for years, and it works beautifully. I seldom use any of the dozens of backgrounds and images they supply because it's so easy to add one I make myself. Lots of printers now let you print on discs, but I'm still using an HP C5280 from 2008.

I buy blank, white hub-printable discs from either Amazon or supermediastore.com. I found that the brand makes no difference. I get few if any failures out of a batch of 50 or 100. Dual layer discs are good for longer videos or for holding twice the number of pictures.

Jerry,I have a question not directly related to what you posted. The question is what DVD player do you use to read dual layer discs. My player ,a Samsung DVD player may or may not play a dual layer disc.I make slide shows using ProShow Producer.

I've found that disc players are very finicky. We will make a disc that will play fine for us but not for someone else. Sometimes after making a disc, the computer will not play it, but it will play it after a restart. We have Toshiba and Sony DVD players, and they won't always play a DVD that the computer plays. We tried one yesterday in the Toshiba. It had played fine a few weeks ago, but not yesterday. Ridiculous.

Jerry you're absolutely correct. I have a Sony Blue ray player and it is one cranky player. Some slideshows and video DVD's it plays and most it doesn't. Have an old Zenith DVD player and it plays everything. Must be newer technology...I have been using supermediastore.com for all my discs over the past 20 years and I agree they all work regardless of brand with very few failures.
