I took many, many photographs of some Sea Otters at Moss Landing, a tiny town along the northern California coast the other day. It turned out to be very difficult to get a decent shot, one that was sharp and showed the sea otter in an attractive way. They just never stop moving and a lot of the shots turned out with the Sea Otter looking more like a wet rat! I plan to return and try again: I loved watching them dive for food and play with one another. Also, I only had a Nikon 70-200mm lens and I plan to go back with my Nikon 80-400 and Nikon 200-500 to get some really close up shots. All shot with a Nikon D500, hand-held.
Nice! Imaging otters is very difficult.
Fun images, especially the way the water looks on its back in #1. Hope you got to enjoy the antics without feeling too frustrated with the uncooperative subjects

Great photos! I really like the second one. I wish mine had turned out that well.

In the '60s when I was a boy, my father and I would dig for Pismo clams below Oceano ramp at low tide and always limit out and come back the next day. For decades now NO CLAMMING, but there are a hella lot o' otters that eat the young clams. Humans can cause the most imbalance in nature and have. I wonder when we'll learn anything, sometimes. Cute little eaters, aren't they?
Looks like you got a few good ones Connie!!
