Sundance Square is an interesting place. Your B&W is good. On the subject matter, I'd say you're much too close. If you were able to pull back, we'd see more of her activity. It would make the photo more dynamic. And the girl on the left keeps attracting my attention. She's too large and too close to the subject. Secondary people add interest and context, but she's just too dominating. Overall, I'd say you have a pretty subject, but you need to show more of her.
Good subject, good B&W, otherwise I am with Voss on this. If you say it is a Segway it is of more interest if we see it down to the wheels.
I agree with Voss and Sats--you needed a vertical.
Thanks for the comments. You guys are teaching me a lot!

And according to someone else's reply in another post, you shouldn't cut her off at the knees.

I read somewhere that you should never cut someone off at any joint. Look for somewhere in between. And seeing photos both ways, it makes sense--a crop compared to an amputation.
You're all correct. I've learned my lesson. I promise not to do it anymore. I'm still learning. Thanks to all.

Repentant is not necessary Robert
We don't tell you but most of us guys take pictures we would never dare to put up here. As the adage goes, first learn the rules and then learn how to break them. Keep putting your photos up here and if some of us would have done it a different way, we will say it without being rotten to you.

Amen to what SATS said. None of our comments are meant to be put-downs. We're just passing on things that we learned along the way. I personally have learned a lot from suggestions and criticisms made by all members of this group, and now feel more confident about my work. So keep on submitting.
I'll keep posting for sure. I'm not offended in any way. Thanks for the encouragement.
I havent seen a Segway in a long time. They never seemed to catch on in NYC.
