HotTexas,
Tell me more. Have you had any problems on a PC with loading, having too much memory used up, performance in general, etc?
Would you advise anyone with a PC to buy it?
Thanks,

Let me tell you something, When they first came out there was problems, after the third update it seamed to fix all problems, todays software requires a somewhat fast computer, software like On1 Raw, Luminar, Topaz, Chapter One And many more, I would advise anyone on any software to try it before you buy it, Make sure it runs on your PC or Mac before you buy it.
Back to your question, yes I would in no doubt highly recommend it.
Luminar works just fine on a PC. Enjoy!
Again thanks. You have helped me and it looks like a trial is in order.

Hogs,
I have been following a "spate" of comments on PP software and do not intend for this to be a duplicate. My only question is -
Is Luminar ready for prime time on a PC or not? Thanks to whoever has an opinion from their experience. Photodoc16
Photodoc16,
To answer your question, "Is Luminar ready for prime time on a PC or not?"... its release probably should have been delayed until they had all of the features of the MAC version in the PC version. I think that is the main complaint that I have seen about the PC version in that it does not have all of the functions and features that the MAC version has. Releasing a program for photo processing that is not fully featured and not working as well as it should be or as the MAC version does was/is a mistake IMO, and others as well.
The other complaint I see people making regarding it being a memory hog and slowing down their PC.... I have not experienced that with Luminar on my PC. But my PC is only about a year old and is pretty beefy so to speak, Gigabyte Z170X-UD5 MOBO, Intel i7 6700, 64GB Ram, 512GB M.2 SSD for my C:\, EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Graphics Card, 2 4TB HDD for storage, so I would hope that I have no problems like that.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Luminar based on my personal experience based on using it so far.
As long as versions are up to date and you have enough RAM, it works fine.
I speak from experience. Luminar 18 does more...

I bought Luminar 2018 for Windows and to answer your question, no it is not ready yet at this time. There is a schedule for when the missing features will be added so it should be ready sometime in January if everything stays on the schedule. I like it and I will be patient with Skylum in getting everything ironed out.
Luminar for PC is still missing a number of features that are on the mac version. the last update added a number of missing features, but quite a few still exist. It does run faster now but stuff is missing. I expect that Luminar will complete it over time and those who bought the discounted first issuance should have the full product in the end.

Here is an update to previous post I made, includes email from Macphun, now Skylum. My question to them was about Luminar saving edits I previously made to photos. When I opened Luminar a couple of nights after using it, none of the photos had the edits I made saved, they were just the unedited RAW file. Here is their response.
Hi Vincent,
We are sorry for the delay in response. The Save option for non-destructive editing will be added to the Windows version in a near future. As of now, you can export your images.
Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter.

Just another example of them releasing software that wasn't ready to be released and used yet. I really like Luminar and would recommend it, but this is just poor planning and execution of the Windows version release. They definitely rushed it because people wanted it and were clamoring for it, but now what they have are disgruntled and unhappy customers, some who have been using the trial version and are so unhappy they won't buy it. Myself, I am disappointed with Macphun for releasing it in this stage of readiness, but I am patient enough to continue using it the best I can and wait for it to be fixed.
