A Swiss Army knife and chapstick. I also keep a Canon G12 in the truck center console.
I would agree with the Canon A1400. Does everything well with a viewfinder. I have three for spares! When I took sample pictures to compare with Nikon lens, I could not see any difference on the computer or in 8X10 prints. Cheap, discontinued, small, does PSAM, still can find on ebay for under $75. Size is a small pack of smokes. Bob
Well, once I was on Let's Make a Deal and was offered $100 for a paper clip, didn't have it then, but I make sure I have one now, you never know!
Sony HX50. My 24/7 camera.

They folded somewhere around 2004.
The little plastic "open assist" thingy broke off. I cannot get it repaired. No more one handed opening. I must have an old one as I've not sharpened it yet and it still cuts nicely. It is what they called a "clip hanger". It has a short tether that can clip to a belt loop and the knife pops off of the tether. Never used the tether on this one. (I have a ≈3-4" version also.)
I see they went bankrupt in 2004, but still produced by other makers, I guess I just lucked out the last time I bought a single blade lock back it was still fairly high quality. The last time I looked this model was no longer available. Oh well I stlll have my Old Timer folding hunting knife. I guess I'll have to raid one of my older Case knives.
Lumix GM5 with 20mm pancake lens.
