This may be old news, but after no news for 3 months, I got a call yesterday from my local store that the MB-D18, ordered on Sep 1st has arrived. (Insert happy dance here.)

I have had my 850 and D-18 grips for a month .. after a few photos you will forget all about the wait. The color is so vibrant on th 850. Enjoy!

Too vibrant sometimes! I used vibrant setting on my D800, so I set the D850 up the same way, and had to back off on that.

Why is vibrant color a big deal? Isn't that adjustable PP??

I wonder where does Nikon make the grip for the D850. The grips for other cameras have come from China but since I heard Nikon is closing their China plants.

Oddjobber could fill us in on that!

I was hoping the D810 grip would fit. That makes me a real comedian...even requires a different L-plate.

My D300 grip came from Thailand. Maybe they still have some facilities there.

I guess they would come from Thailand because Nikon made the D850 there.

I don't expect Nikon to stop making the MB-D18 any time soon but I heard they closed down the China factories.

NOT!!! I was surprised that the EN-EL15a battery that came with the D850 is gray colored.
