A real live working telephone. For those of you who don't know what you are looking at, we used to use these wayyyyy back when. You lift the receiver and put money in the slot and then dial (by finger) the number you want.
When I saw this, I just had to shoot it.

Really , you put money in it?. What kind of money ? Did it work in all kinds of weather ? Could you email, or send pics, or how about texting ?Could someone call you on it ? Did you have to stand there all day and wait for a call , or could you take it with you ? Looks kind of heavy though. I don't know, I don't think it will catch on.

I'd be more impressed if it was a rotary dialed phone. Then you really had to work to make a call. This on a trail head somewhere?

I have a rotary one in my shop. When I was photographing in the outback of Australia in 1980, the public phones only had a crank on the side.

Now that's going back aways.

I thought we'd get to see one of the old ones, like Clark Kent used to use to change into Superman!
