Very neat. That 1st one sure looks like it hit something! Reminds me of my area here during some storms.

Best lightning are after dark. The storm that produced this photo is moving west to east, camera (Canon Rebel T3i) from second floor points south. Zoom 17-55 @ 17 mm. Exposure at 17 mm, f 5.4 10 second exposure. Camera on tripod being buffeted by thunder and wind. I was taking one ten second exposure after another for about 5 minutes. Many exposures are void of lightning.
Fireworks are easier. I used a 50 mm, f22, 3 seconds.

Oh, I'd say it atleast hit a tree! Awesome storm though! The lightning was non stop, but mostly cloud to cloud, and couldn't see many bolts, but when you could, they were very intense! Thanks for commenting!
