We lost our beloved Abby, Duncan, this morning. It has been a hard few months - we have lost two of our original pride of Abysinnians leaving only Max, my avatar. Duncan was noble, brave and loving, and we miss his presence in or lives terribly. He has left indelible paw prints on our hearts.
Nice photo of her... sorry to hear you're lost! I sure she went to the rainbow bridge peacefully.
Meant to say...He... sorry.

Thank you everyone for your kind replies and condolences - they are greatly appreciated. Our house feels very empty this morning.

So sorry for your loss. It's hard to loose Animals, they are family, but each one leaves very special memories.
So sorry for your loss. I do know how much you must miss him. I know I have had the same experience. I now have a rescue cat who I love dearly. I don't know what I will do when I no longer have her. Of course, I'm getting up there in age so she may outlive me, who knows. I'm hoping to be able to stay in my own place for as long as possible so I can have my dear Dolley with me.

Thank you all for the kind responses. I used to tell Duncan that we were both old men, and that we were both struggling to to hang on awhile longer. Sadly, Duncan only lived 12 years (his brother only lived to be 7). Abby’s are wonderful, handsome, affectionate cats, but as we found out, after having four, they all descended from an extremely small gene pool (a single cat named Zula, smuggled out of India by a British soldier, crossed with a British tabby and line bred to get the modern abysinnian). Unfortunately, many have health issues, so as much as I love the breed, if and when I get another cat (and I can’t begin to think of that right now), it will probably come from a shelter - there are so many nice cats waiting to be adopted.
