The LCD screen protector previously on my Nikon has partially peeled off, so today I purchased a replacement (Vello Screen Protector Ultra). After removing the still attached (old) protector, a adhesive residue was left on the LCD screen. Any recommendations as to how to remove this old residue, so I can attach the new protector on the LCD screen?
My thanks in advance - Strix.
What does the manual say about using rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth?

I would not use rubbing alcohol. It could fog up the screen permanently. Go to a computer shop, Best Buy etc, and buy a package of LCD screen wipes. You can use them on your other cameras, Smartphones, and small Tablets with LCD screens.
Cool .... I learned something today! LCD screen wipes! Going to Best-Buy and get some...thanks mas24 for the info.

Get the slightly moistened ones. Those are the best.
Not only did a similar thing happen to my D7100 but the glue from the film lcd protector gunked up my menu button to the point it was completely stuck. The film was still on but the adhesive migrated out, probably from being transported the hot car. I did use alcohol, all is well now but my lcd is flying bare now, won't chance it again.
I tried a light application of alcohol on a small rag, and it seemed to work.
Thanks to all who responded.
Strix.
