They're called, I believe, long boats. Many of these are probably lived-in full time and others may be vacation boats. There are many canals around Great Britain where this type of boat can travel. I wish I could have traveled in one when we visited the UK many years ago.

The name for these boats is narrowboats

They are called narrowboats
