Another view from our place in the central Oregon Cascades
Beautiful sky.
Several suggestions that will improve your presentation and hopefully show you tools and techniques for the future.
Crop the image to just above the topmost streak of light. The streaks add nothing to your composition and actually detract from the Milky Way.
Assuming you have an editing program like Lightroom, use a graduated filter from the top down to the middle of the tree line so all of the sky is covered. If you use Lighroom, in the Develop module, move the temperature slider into the blue to make the sky more like what you saw vs the heavy magenta cast.
The central dust lanes of the Milky Way are the most dramatic, and your image will benefit from seperating them from the overall sky. Again in a program like Lightroom, use a radial filter sized and tilted to closely match the size and angle of the central core. Lighten exposure subtly, to bring the dust out of the background.
Have fun.
