I am looking to buy the Nikon d7500 bundle and it comes with the 2 lenses below. What kind of quality are the lenses ??
AF-P 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens
AF-P 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G VR Lens

Would it be better to get a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens with the d7500 instead for about the same price?
Is the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR a better option than the other 2 combined?

Yes, the 18-140 is the better option given these two lenses. The 70-300 VR is fine and you may find you'll desire more 'length' in the future and this lens would be a good candidate. But, if you have no lenses now, the 18-140 is a much more useful, general purpose lens for this body.

The new AF-P lenses have better reviews than the older AF-S lenses. If you are interested in shooting things like the moon and small birds and wildlife like I am, I would get option 1 which covers the whole gamut from wide angle to telephoto. As time goes on you may want other lenses like the f1.4 50mm for low light and greater depth of field, and a macro lens. I've always chosen to have the widest focal length range possible, and the 18-140 won't give you a telephoto capability.

300mm is too short for "wildlife and birds" unless you have a well-positioned bird feeder so don't let the idea of 70-300 turn you away from the good idea of a general purpose 18-140 ...

I have all three of the lens you mentioned. Be careful of the kits, in many of them the 70-300 is not the VR version do not get the non VR version as VR is essential to get sharp hand held pictures. The P lens are very sharp and the IQ is very good. The 18-140 is very good also, has a metal mount and is a great all purpose lens. Tough to decide if I could only have one choice as I use all three but would go with the 18-140 for its versatility. I use the 18-55 when I want a smaller, lighter combo and the 70-300 when I need a longer reach. You can't go wrong either way.

The 18-50mm is probably the new version. That lens has always had a good reputation. Buying them with the camera, you get a discount off the list price, so you have a good package there. Look for reviews and comparisons online.

I once bought a camera that was available only with the kits lens package. I didn't need it, so I sold it online and came out ahead.

Go to Costco for the D7500 two lens kit...I upgraded from a D90. The two new AF-P lenses have proven to lived up the their excellent reviews and both have VR. I also have the venerable Nikon 18-200 VR lens, the 35mm f1.8 and the Sigma 10-20

Thanks I have been looking at Costcos kit. Best Buy tried to move me to the Canon 80d based on value for the buck . I like the feel of the Nikon alot better but the Canon is 400 cheaper. Definitely leaning towards Nikon d7500 kit vs the Canon 80D. Any reason the Canon is better than Nikon for wildlife?

Can't give a definitive answer ... But based on huge jpg or raw buffer, 51 focusing points, and focus tracking, along with the very fast focusing of the 70-300( really 100-450 due to APS, don't think you would be disappointed with the D7500, which as you know inherited a lot of the inner workings from the D500!
