I purchased a new Canon G3X plus various accessories for it.
Within a week testing I decided I did not like it. Returned all of it for credit and
purchased a new OM10 ll Olymplus with a 12-35f2.8 lens and a 100-300 lens. Plus extra accessories.
I still want to purchase a couple more lenses, etc.
My total cost for the G3X $1,042.00. B&H's credit to me is $504.00.
I guess that is how they like to treat their small customers.

Before you come here and complain have you called B&H and talked to anyone about this? If so what did they say. We don't have all the facts.
I even returned an ASUS desktop pc to them, with no problem; call them
As most others have stated, my experience with returns (3 in 5 years) has been totally satisfactory. Totally unsatisfactory that you didn't attempt to contact someone to work out where the miscommunication or error happened. It could very well be with you.
Everybody take a deep breath. The OP has not responded to any questions nor has he updated the situation. This will get straightened out but he may not wish to update us. B&H has not changed their policies. We are definitely missing some part of the story.
Something missing here. Bought a Leica M lens from them, after trying it decided I wanted a different Lecia lens (within their 30 day return window), returned it for full refund and then bought a second Lecia M lens that better fit my needs, that I kept. No questions asked, What little service/return experience I've had with B&H over the last several decades has been 100% positive.

If you abused the camera in any way, I can understand why you would not receive full credit. If anything does not work as advertised, B&H always gives an 100% refund. Now if the camera works 100% as advertised with no defects, and you just don't like it...that may be another matter. I wouldn't give you your money back either. That's your problem.
No that does not matter to B&H at all if you like or don't like the camera. If returned within the specified time period they make 100% refunds if all is returned and it comes back in the condition that it went out. I have been doing business with B&H for over 40 years and they have gone out of their way to save me money. Great store, if you have never been there you need to go, you will feel like a kid again in toy land before Christmas!

I guess you have not spoken with my wife! Well, it has been several weeks!
I have found B&H terrific on returns over many years. About 20 years ago I mistakenly bought a Sony PAL video format camera and later discovered it would not play on my TV. About a month after purchase I returned it to the store and got a full refund which I used to buy a camera with NTSC format. No problem, but I did get a chuckle from customer service. Something seems wrong in the original post based on my experience. BTW if you are in NY go to their store even if you don't intend to buy anything. It's like a big person toy store.

I’ve never had a problem with any B&H OR Adorama return. Never!!!!
Something is apparently wrong. You are LEAPING to erroneous conclusions. Not a typical refund. I've used the return policy and have received a Full refund.
Call them and speak to a customer rep. They'll make it right or provide a satisfactory reason for not giving you a 100% refund.

There is more to the story. Did B&H apply some of your refund to the new purchase. I have been dealing with them for decades, never a problem.

You are right Dave, sure would be nice to sit down with both of you and my wife too with a hot cup of coffee and plan on where we want to shoot tomorrow. What did you do, buy a new camera , lens or both? Let me know when you both will be out there again, our wives get along just fine, we may be in trouble. I told my wife that I now have all I'll ever need for photography that is, do I recall your wife telling my wife that you said almost the same thing? OK lets get back to the subject, do you have to check on the return plan from B&H too?

LOL! Kathy insists on no trips next year, but I want to make reservations in Gardiner for late May, 2019. I'm waiting for the D850 to come in and I just got my Tam 150-600 G2. She said something about no Christmas presents this year,
Heading for Merritt Island Tuesday! Still not like Swan Lake or Lamar! Have a pleasant holiday and I'll PM as we progress!
when you return from Merritt, please post any tips you may have; I will be there for about 1.5 days in April;
