Spent two weeks in Palm Springs and this was the only evening we had clouds. Just happened to have JT scheduled for then. Went to top of Keys View and parked myself behind this tree and waited. Worth the wait!
Definitely worth the wait. Beautiful Shot.

Love it! Thanks for waiting! 👍🏻
nice. as noted, worth the wait.
Excellent composition on this one....love that sky.
Thanks all for your kind comments. It was a memorable sunset, enjoyed by many gathered at the lookout. I was fortunate to get there early enough to grab the spot I found. Being in JT National Park, I really wanted a tree in the pic and this was about the only one there that worked.
SUPER!!! I have been to Joshua Tree twice, back when I had business in SoCal. I would add some monkey business to my trips; never went out to SoCal without some kind of digital camera. Joshua Tree always felt like some prehistoric beast would appear out of nowhere. I have it on my "to do" list to get back to Joshua Tree with at least my D7100 now. I have heard that Key's View is quite the location at first light after rain has washed the pollution out of the air, you can see a long way into Mexico then. Thanks for sharing your pic!!!
