D750 unless you plan on making big prints I would go with the 750and its low light capabilities are as good if not better than the 810 also try Cameta and B&H some good deals at Cameta and they will match pricing I have had a great experience with them good luck with your pursuit.

I consistently print 16 x 20 and they are amazing with the d750!

Nikon's "Black Friday Savings" 6-page brochure out today lists the D750 (body only) on sale at $1499.99.
The D810 (body only) is listed at $2799.99.

I should have added that I would be wary of a d750 used because there was a shutter replacement recall, and you might need service done to the camera. I believe it is still free but it is a hassle. For the d750 I would think it worth it to buy new, given the large current discount. If money is an issue, a crop sensor like the d7200 is an excellent camera at a good price. You might use it with an 18-140 and a 35mm dx lens.

I bought a new D750 a year and a half ago. No recall problems on on mine (I checked), or on any newer D750's. You would only run into these issues on an older, used D750 (it never was all units, it was easy & free to fix, and you can look up individual units on the Nikon website by serial #), and that should be reflected in the used purchase price. I think you are spreading old rumors at this point.
For the same money I would have picked a D810, but I'm happy with the D750 and it saved money then (still would). I stepped up from a Sony A6000 and an Olympus OMD E-M1 (mkI) and the IQ, and especially the AF performance, is noticeably better. I like that the D750 is small & light compared to most FF cameras (not by much, and when travelling I still usually take the A6000).

I would get the D810, more pixels if cropping. I had a D750 and sold it after the shutter failure problem, only camera I ever had a problem with.

I own a D810 and shoot family functions, sports, landscapes and birds. I do get very excellent results with this camera. On the bird shots I am able to crop the photo thus enlarging the bird to where it fits into a 16x20 and still able to show feather details in the photo. Have had not problems shooting in low light situations without any problems. I have owned a D70 and still own a D200 and D7100 cameras (which my grandkids use) and I use as backup to the D810. I still get blown away with the details in my photos with the D810.

If you shoot landscapes the D810 is definitely the way to go. The sensor and resolution is industry leading and still competes with the D850 in that respect. Also the extra resolution comes in very hand when cropping is needed.

Didn’t the D750 have some problems that created a recall? D810 is a amazing camera, i wish it had a tilt screen, but even so, I’d take it over the D750.

No, the D750 had a sensor recall. It was the D600 that had the dust and oil spots on the sensor.

Both are good cameras. The D810 has the pixel density to do some serious cropping without losing detail. It all depends on what you want to do.
