I agree, but I'm guessing the amount of cheating is smaller than most assume. Especially compared to the corporate cheats (anyone hear of the banks fixing the LABOR?) that adds up to real money.

That's "LIBOR" with an "I," but your point is taken.

As some said before It would be a good idea if the men would have to be the carrier of the baby for nine months. Sounds good to me. We wouldn't have half the illegitmate kids running around that we have to support.

You insensitive clod! :)

When our #2 was born, my wife wanted to get tied off. My idea was to let her body settle down for a while. In the mean time it was decided the easiest method was for me to get the snip.
It was the best thing since sliced bread. Mind you it didn't make her any less cranky. I guess nothing does.

Here, here MWAC! Also...what if a person is receiving aid and absolutely cannot work?No voting for them, either?? Sounds like crap to me.

PUT ME IN CHARGE . . ..

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Reading around the internet, it was apparently written by a man named Alfred W. Evans as a letter to the editor of the Waco Tribune not a young 21 year old woman. I would like to know why he thinks it neccessary for a woman to get a tubal legation in order to receive government assistance but males do not seem to require a vasectomy for the same assistance??

You'd better hope she doesn't read this thread or you may have no further need for your "snip"!

I agree 100%. If you can afford the 22" rims, you don't need welfare. If you are on welfare, you should be actively trying to get a job to get off of welfare, it should only be a temporary assistance program. If you cannot find a job, then you should become an "employee" of the government, and earn the aid. I agree with the section on government housing, why should our military people who are putting their lives on the line for our freedom every day have more restrictions on the housing they EARN than the crack head on welfare, who lives free off of our tax money? I agree with what types of food should be allowed to be purchased with foodstamps/EBT. I have seen people on welfare spending their welfare money and eating better than I do. I have also seen people on welfare driving brand new expensive cars. I saw an article on tv several years ago about a family who was "career" welfare recipients. They were living in a brand new $150,000 home, had 2 brand new SUV's, a 55" plasma screen tv, with all of the amenities, and had purchased all of it while on welfare. As far as the birth control idea goes, I think it should be for both male and female, although I can see the authors intent by saying that females should have mandated birth control while on welfare. And no, I am NOT racist or sexist!

OK, I give up! I'm a liberal. You convinced me, no more welfare for people with 24" rims. I am so convinced by your argument that I feel compelled to do something. Please provide a list of the welfare cheats with 24" rims.
While we're at it let's go after corporate welfare queens, I CAN make a list starting with Exxon Mobile.
Patiently waiting for yours.

The problem is there are millions of people out there ready to take the money that someone else earned and a gov. willing to give it. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE TRULY NEEDY. There are families out there that have been on welfare for ever. You know back in the 5os you could not own a car on public assistance. Also what you could and could not buy with the money. Not so much different from that suggested at the top. If I'm wrong here please correct me. Another thing I will misspell and put in a wrong word from time to time I hope that dose not disqualify my opinion on the matter as suggested. I remember when people would approach you for a dollar or two now they want ten or twenty. As long as your willing to give it they will gladly take it.

First of all I believe that I am the king of typos, so I, for one, will not judge you for your spelling if I you don't judge me on mine.

Second, perpetual welfare was ended under Clinton. I can't tell you how many people on pubic assistance really need it, and how many are lazy cheats, but neither can you. My belief it's that most of those famous and children are deserving of our sport. My belief is that, it is in the interest of corporate cheats, and the politicians they own, to distract us with "red meat" so they can continue to benefit, without our noticing.

I can continue my corporate welfare list - Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, AIG............
