What I saw there in 1988 was amazing, but what your photos show they have done since, and are still doing, is right down mind-boggling. Thank You for "taking me back." Luen

They have invested a lot in the buildings. I'm happy to have taken you back to see the changes.

I was there on a tour in 2011, it sure has changed since then!

I have read where they keep digging allover the place, it is hard to believe !!!

Thank you for the update

My pleasure.

We bought their slick book with beautiful photographs and realized we had missed a lot (not sure if all the recovered objects are open to the public anyway.)

It had to be amazing to see all of these photos first hand. In Seattle last summer there was a traveling display that contained about 15 of the soldiers and just that small sample was wonderful to see. It is amazing that folks had a 'vision to see' such a massive project so many years ago. In the Seattle exhibit there as a miniature of the assembly line used to make the figures. Quite impressive, but probably also done under less than ideal conditions for the workers.

There is contemporary documentation that the Emperor Qin had 700,000 people work on that project over many years.

Wish I would have had the camera I have now when I was there. Visited twice and took a ton of photos, but all with a point and shoot. Fascinating place to visit. Chinese have so much history. Nice photos.

Thank you. I would have been dissatisfied with a P&S. My wife shot with her Sony RX-100 and her results were generally way too soft.

Highly recommend the Viking River Cruises Beijing-XiAn-Lhasa, Tibet-Yangtze river cruise-Shanghai trip. I'm glad you enjoyed some snippets.
