I have been playing around with the new Luminar 18 (they are changing the name to Skylum) and really like it. A big improvement over the old version. It is very easy to work with and has some new filters like sunrays that I like. It can be used to develope RAW images but I see myself using it more as finishing software. Their website has a video on its new features if you are interested.

The software will still be Luminar. The company has changed their name to Skylum.

I have Luminar 2017 and really like it. I haven’t used PS cc or LRcc for the last 9 months. I just bought 2018 for Mac and Windows. Mac loaded no problems but can’t get my windows to load. It goes through the entire loading process but can’t find it after. I will be going to Skylum for assistance. Have you or any UHH loaded Luminar for windows?

I've loaded both Luminar 2018 and Aurora HDR 2018 on my Acer laptop running Windows 10 Home, 64-bit i7 cpu, 8 GB RAM, and 512 gb SSD. Have also installed a couple of Preset packs. I'm still going thru the videos and playing with it, however I'm liking it so far.

That is correct, thank you for the clarification. They are changing the name of the company from Macphun to Skylum. The software is Luminar.

The windows version is lacking a lot of the mac features but they should all be in the windows version by the end of January hopefully.
I think they have a update coming this week.

I bought Luminar 2018 for the PC and have requested a refund. Here’s a few of the many reasons what: no save function with edit history, no prompt tp save working file on exit, no way to add a watermark to images, no white balance edit, slow as molasses, surprise crashes. My list is short compared to the complaints piling up on social media. There are various feature differences between the Mac and PC versions, but only now are tutorial being issued tied to each. Because there are so many issues, Macphun has actually published a schedule of fix releases each listing what they correct. So far, editing white balance is not among them. I can’t speak for the Mac version but the PC is clearly not ready for prime time and should not have been released.

Unfortunate on the Windows version. I'm a happy Mac version Luminar user. Windows is such a crap operating system that it's hard for most software to perform well. I even find that Microsoft Office products on Mac out perform Microsoft Office products on Windows.

My experience with the Mac version has been tremendous; It’s fast (on my 64 GB Ram iMac), rock steady (no crashes), offers so much and allows me to be very artistic, never-mind being fun! It sounds like the PC version needs some tweaks though. I agree that MS Windows is a “difficult” OS with so many pitfalls I switched to MAC many years ago and have left all of my previous OS criticisms behind. (Sorry PC users, not meaning to send a “flamer”, just my experience).

I like it I have not crashed it yet running windows 10 but it is just lacking a lot of features that the mac has right now. I am sure it will be a
great program once they get everything in it.

I just got Luminar 2018 and was playing around with it and I like it.
In my view it will not replace Lightroom which I use for my real estate photo shoot post processing work.
