Last night we went to the tree lighting at Stan Hywet Hall in Akron, Ohio.
I focused on the tree and released the shutter just as Santa and his helpers turned on the tree. The image showed up for a moment in the viewfinder and I was amazed.
I know that there are likely many things that could be improved, but I love it.

Reminds me of the scene in "A Garfield Christmas" when the family lights the tree and everyone goes "Oooooo!!!" Beautiful shot!

This is an entirely different mood than if the exposure had been set for the bright lights. A serendipitous moment for sure. Happy, glowing, definitely a feel of oooohhhh at that first instant the lights come on. Love it!

It does seem early but it was an event for members before the seasonal events begin.
It was nice because it was not as packed as it is once it is open to the public. It was still difficult to get pictures without blocking others.
We paid for a family membership so we can go with our grandchildren for free.
