It looks great! Why would you really want to change it? What do you think it lacks?

I would suggest cropping a small amount from the top of the image. To me it seems that the high contrast of the sky/clouds tries to draw my eyes away from the beautiful landscape.

Thank you,
Good point. I was thinking about that too, just not sure how to make it work without cutting off the lake or creating unwanted panorama...
Maybe I'm just afraid of tight cropping...?

Hello,

I would like to ask you, experts, what would be your approach to processing this photo to make it "pop" without looking fake or too HDR-ish?
Lighting conditions were less than ideal, but not insufficient in my opinion, but even tho I've spent some time modifying things around, it still looks somehow muffled to me.
It very well reflects the reality of the scene when this photo was taken, but somehow it just doesn't stand out...
I would really appreciate if someone would take time go over this with me. It may not be the greatest photo wth some fringing and the angle ot was taken from, but it's tied to a memory that makes it valueable to me.

Thank you!
Hello, br br I would like to ask you, experts, wh... (show quote)

when I downloaded, I noticed that the picture was slightly leaning to the left. Straighten out the pic using the back of the lake to make sure the horizon is level. Other than that, try cropping the wall in the foreground out. Perfect otherwise.

It's a beautiful picture! I'm with you on the over done processing - sometimes it's fun and sometimes it takes away from the natural beauty.

Agreed. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

I think this is a beautiful picture!
I have to admit that the first thing I would do is to straighten the horizon - the lake and trees are tilted left. Sorry, I know this is a nit-pick.

Not much more you could do in PP. There's not a clear subject for the eye to be drawn to. Leave the sky like it is and try to bring up the contrast in the remainder, maybe play with the black point.

Agree with other comments. It's an excellent shot but could use just a touch more contrast. I like the "S"of the river. That's classic composition.
It might be a little dishonest, but I might add a human figure, either somebody standing on the ridge in the foreground or in a small boat or canoe on the water.Or perhaps a bird or two in the sky.

The river leads the eye to almost dead center. Try a rule of thirds in your composition, or the golden ratio/fibonacci.

To improve the drama, try shooting at sunset/sunrise.

But really, it ain't half bad.

Where was it taken?
