D7100/Tamron 180mm Macro.

This little guy landed on my arm & as it looked like a skeeter, I shoo'd it. It then landed on a leaf, so I took a quick shot. It looked like a skeeter & it was the same size as a skeeter, but it was only when I could view it on the computer that I noticed all the colors--now I don't know what it is, lol. It is heavily cropped & downloading is recommended.

Amazing colors. It looks more like a fly to me than a mosquito.

I think it is a little drone fly used by the military to spy on you. Check it for a miniature camera behind those big eyes. ;-)

It's a long-legged fly..or that's what they're called here. Good shot, Earl. Glad you didn't kill it. They eat tiny bugs.

The bugs they eat must be extremely tiny because this one was no bigger than a skeeter (about 5/16" long).

They are tiny, and they eat tiny gnats.

Earl, as others have stated, gorgeous colors and a beneficial fly.

Nice shot, Earl. At least it never had a chance to bite you, whatever it is.
