Does anyone know of a good site or app to get rid of older cameras/equipment? My 35mm Canon Rebel has been gathering dust for years as well as a couple of older digital cameras. I would really like to try a mirrorless camera (have been looking at the Sony 6000 series online), & am thinking about trading the Canon GX7 Mark II towards the price. I’ve checked out the Amazon trade program, WalMart, Target, a local camera store & Cameta Camera on line.

I just had a great experience with MBP.com(in NYC) in that I sold them a 70-300 nikon lens and they made a generous offer. As soon as I accepted the offer they emailed me a fedex label at their cost and after receiving the item my bank was sent the money! Go to their website and get a free quote.

ebay is my only source of income from this expensive hobby. If I get a new piece of gear, or I find that I haven't used something in a long time, I put it on ebay. It's gone in a week, and I have money. I take lots of detailed pictures and write a thorough description. I have the auction run from Sunday to Sunday, 6:00 PM Pacific time, since that's when most people will be available to get in that last, high bid. If you sell it to a commercial business, they have to allow for their profit, so you will get less.

Search for your item on ebay and then click on "Sold items" down the left column. You'll see how much people have actually paid for them.

I have sold on Ebay for over 10 years. Generally get between 50-90% more for my used equipment than what they will give me on trade, including the mail in trade places. Of course you have to take pictures of it, list it, ship it, and pay 10% to ebay BUT I LIKE THE EXTRA MONEY I GET SO I CAN GET BETTER PHOTO EQUIPMENT. WHY MAKE THEM RICHER WHEN I CAN POCKET ALL THAT EXTRA MONEY.

I too, have sold a ton of photo stuff on EBay and don't forget good old UHG ( ugly hedge hog). Just keep your prices reasonable and you'll have no problem selling on this site.
