Mammoth Lakes Creek - Twin Lakes

One thing I love about digital photography is how you can take a so-so color print, and by converting it to Black and White, discover hidden drama and beauty in an image.
The Twin Lakes are at 8500 ft, about 1000 ft above Mammoth Lakes. The Creek flows into the Owens River on the valley floor, and then to the Los Angeles Aqueduct, and to my faucet.

As much as I am anti B&W, I will agree 100% with you on your assessment! I have a color shot of steam engine pulling the Donner summit grade, that is to quote you, "so-so"!
But when I converted it to B&W, the photograph took on a completely different life! (To the positive!)

If I find them, I will start a new topic, so as to not hijack this one, and see of everyone agrees. I suspect (sic) they will.

I like the look of Black & White photos. Sort of nestalgic don't you think.

Sometimes we see what we want to see. Thinking about getting a new car?

I agree this shot has everything it needs. Of course that is without seeing the color version.
