This is my first posting so Ill just jump in. I am an amateur compared to most of you guys, so bear with me. Im really interested in learning some new lighting techniques, especially portrait lighting. I really lean more toward doing black and whites, I feel it tells more of story about a subject. So Im open to any and all advice. I got this shot off at the bird sanctuary in St. Louis last sat using a D3S.. be brutal, I can take it ;)

Being "brutal" serves no real purpose. Constructive crits do. I like the shot. I think though it is a slight bit dark. May I suggest also, when you post, also click "store original" so that we may enlarge the image and get the full details.
