A couple Sundays ago i decided to take the sunny afternoon and go on a safari to my local canyon. There is no easy way into the place and very few ever go there. But spending several hours next to cool running water and doing some macro work was the perfect remedy for a hot day. To document my journey I took several of the canyon to show a sense of the adventure and to make Doug happy (and Doug you know that's my only reason for living) I even took a shot of my setup. I hope you enjoy my little excursion.
The Arroyo
The way down notice no stairs
At the bottom nice view but I went the other way into the deep.
Walking up the creek
The set up. What you don't see is a 12 inch diffuser and a remote shutter release plus a couple extensions tubes #1 & #2
The results drum roll please
Bubbles

Not too shabby! I love crick walkin' and tide pools. A photo of one outing below.
Your caterpillar is similar to a "wooly bear", which will become a moth, also below.

Thanks Doug for the bug i.d. That little water fall looks full of possibilities.
Country mama and tinusbum thanks for your appreciation.
