Is it worth what might be an additional expense to get a monopod with a Quick Release plate system?
Or is the lesser monopod, where it screws into the camera's tripod connection, sufficient for most. Just looking to see how the majority of you feel about this.
Thanks.

I enjoy the convenience a QR. All of my gear is arca-swiss and easy to swap particularly when opportunities/distances or preferences constantly change. I am shaky and prefer a tripod whenever I can use it, but I have the option of quickly deploying what I choose. I also have QR's on my ballhead and gimbal to accommodate my tripod as well.
I use monopods a lot, to help with the weight of heavy lenses on long shoots, and do not use use a quick release plate.
I use the lens tripod mounting point, not the camera body, to attach the monopod.

Its always nice to have QR plates, that way, no matter what you use, your tripod, monopod, or any other devise, it just a single click to mount, or remove your rig!!
I believe the QR plate is a very worthwhile convenience, but I seldom used ultra-long or ultra-heavy lenses.
Can't imagine using my monopod without a QR clamp. I've had Arca Swiss style plates on my Nikon bodies and on the foot of the 80-200 lens for years, and it's the work of but a moment to connect or disconnect any of them to the monopod as needed. I would NEVER want to try to align and tighten a 1/4-20 thread into the foot of that heavy lens with a camera hung on the back end, when I can just slide it into the clamp and lock it down with a half-turn of a knob.
Beside it help balancing heavy lens for stability
I have a RRS monopod head on my monopod with a QR clamp
I have a Arca-Swiss clamp on my Manfrotto mono pod which is terrific. On my Joby Gorilla-pod, I have a ball head and Arca-Swiss Clamp. This set up works better than trying to adjust the legs to position the camera. BTW, after years of using Manfrotto clamps and plates, I switched to Arca-Swiss. Better stability, more secure and easier to use - JMO.

I love the ability to quickly mount my long lense to either my tripod or monopod. I have an older manfroto gimbal head so the system i use is all manfroto quick release. Be sure to check the mounting screw on your monopod, my first monopod was a lesser quality and the screw snaped. Saved by camera strap. My replacement monopod of better quality has not had the same problem.

I use QR plates on anything that holds a camera. It makes it much easier to add and remove. I use the Manfrotto combination.
Every photographer has their own likes and dislikes. The logical reason would be the same plate for monopod and tripod.
