On the beach

I tried to do two things this morning. First I wanted to go fishing because I read reports that the Stripped Bass are in town. Then, I wanted to take some photos because I always want to do that. So I combined the two. I decided to drive about 40 minutes to Asbury Park where I usually don't fish; but I often take photos. I did not catch any fish; but I have a couple of photos you might enjoy seeing. Any and all comments, as always, are welcome and appreciated.

Both pleasing images Erich...#2 I find well composed and #1 a touch overdone but impactful.

I love your fishermen photo!! Love the colors and the composition' even the out-of-focus parts!!! My only suggestion is to straighten the horizon.
As to the black-and-white, my own preference for this kind of landscape is to have the entire image be in focus.

The second one is great, and, while I understand the appreciation for the first one, it's a little soft for my tastes.

Sometimes that sunrise is really crazy colorful. (Thank you air polution). I like both of these as well thanks for taking a look.

Thank you, Edie. That pesky horizon. I played with it and played with it. I think sometimes you can over-work an image. Now that I look at it again, you are absolutely right and it is a bit tilted. Thanks.
