That's Howdy Doody. His buddies were Buffalo Bob and Clarabel the Clown. There also was one called Flapadap or some other silly name. Me, I watched on TV, never made it to the Peanut Gallery.

Who played Clairabelle on the show and went on to another very popular kids' show?

It was Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring. I don’t think she was a Native American, but a cutie nevertheless. If alive she might be a bit wrinkled now.

I just googled her: Her name was Judy Tyler and died in an auto accident on July 3, 1957.

Anyone remember Winky Dink and the transparent "sheet" that went over the TV screen so that you could help Winky escape from trouble? All you needed was a crayon (and, of course, to remember to put that sheet on the TV screen before you started to draw!).

Yes, I got the transparent plastic sheet and would religiously draw whatever Winkie Dink needed (e.g., a bridge to get across a chasm, etc.)

I used to know what each weekday’s theme was, but have forgotten the matchup. There was a Guest Star day, Roundup/Rodeo or Western day, Circus Day. That’s about all my memory can handle. However, everyday was Annette day.❤️

I think it was Wednesdays that had the theme "Day of Surprises". Anybody remember Spin and Marty? I always identified with Marty; my wife says she always had a crush on Marty - maybe that's why we've been married 33 years.

Howdy Doody. Does anyone remember Big John and Sparky and the Leprechaun Marching Band on the radio in the late 40's and early 5o's. Was on Saturday mornings.

Forgot to include: Big John... was on the radio, not tv.

During a brief period when I was very young Howdy Doody, The Micky Mouse Club and Superman occupied a good bit of my time. Not relative to how much TV kids watch today, but still a few hours a week. Of course there was also Sky King, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Cisco Kid, Kukla Fran and Ollie, Romper Room, Kit Carson, and many others were on as well.

Remember them all

Don
