Tamron 15x all in one lense

Has anyone used the Tamron 15x all in one lense? Advertised as 18 - 270mm. Would be nice to have a lense that does everything, but I think this would be too good to be true.

I have never used it myself, but do use the Nikon 28-300mm almost everyday. Nikon also just introduced an 18-300mm DX lens that is getting GREAT reviews. Tamrons built quality has always bothered me, but there are several users of this lens on here that claim it is a pretty good one for the money.

I do use the lens. It's my walk around lens and I love it.
However, I am seriously considering the Nikon 18-300. It will weigh a bit more and is more expensive. I'm waiting for the professional reviews and deciding if I should stay with a DX format or go FX (Nikon of course).

I have the same lens and use it all the time. Here are a couple of photos I have taken with it in the last month.Both images taken with my Tamron lens 18-270

I have this lens, the zoom crawls when the camera is pointed down. I was told this is normal, but I do not have the issue with my 100-400 Canon. The lens is not pin sharp through its entire zoom range. I guess if you are taking snapshots it is OK but for art work I would chose a brand matched to your camera.

I use the Tamron lens, have had great results, love it for travel, only have to take one lens and I hae never had an issue with lens crawl, The lens has a lock on it and I do use and it is very secure. I have had mine for approximately 4 years, love it. It also has a 6 year guarantee with it which is a good feature.

Gorgeous photos! I think I may have to put that lens on my want list! The credit for the great photos of course goes to you and not the lens!

At $350 less than Nikon, it gets good results.

Lens lock does work but it should not be necessary. $ $350.00 is a small price to pay for a brand matched lens that is of a much better quality. You don't buy lenses for the short term.

I have had this lens for a few years. Haven't used it that much. I do a lot of indoor no flash work and don't like it much for that. I just discovered it prohibits my shooting drive selection from working. I guess as an outdoor bright day lens it would be OK. Sure beats carrying around two lenses. Here are a few shots from yesterday.
