Back in my film days I took some shots of an old restored steamer coming through my small home town. Some of them I thought came out quite nice. When I showed the prints to an old friend who was a bit of a railroad buff, he kind of went into a tirade about not being able to tell the wheel arrangement from any single photo. Apparently, if you're a railroad buff, that's an important consideration when taking photos of locomotives.
Not necessarily an artistic consideration, but something I've never forgotten since then. Just thought I'd share that little piece of advice from an old friend who passed away a few years ago.
