I am thinking about selling my 7D Classic. I have looked on Amazon and KEH.com and see what they are asking. I wanted to know what some of you guys think is a fair price for the body and 2 batteries, charger and a strap.

The, olc

Check Ebay and the large online stores for current prices.

Here's what they sold for on ebay recently. An item is worth what someone is willing to pay. A friend read that her car is worth $16,500, so she put it on ebay with that as the reserve - no interest at all.

I sold my 7D late last year for $500.00. Included was an 18-135 kit lens, two batteries and battery grip, manual, camera bag and any cables that came with it when new. I think I purchased it in late 2008. Not sure how many clicks it had on it.

The body without a lens? A very few hundred bucks. You are better off keeping it as a 2nd body as a backup for your new camera. I use the 7d as well. It still meets my needs. Bu would I love a 7d11 or a 1dxll or maybe go to new D850, of course, but the divorce would be too expensive

Here is what they are getting for the body only on ebay. It is a very good predictor of what that body is worth.

Your camera. You decide what you want for it. Look on ebay.

Good idea! I'd be lost without a backup of second camera. I can put a tele on one and a W/A on the other.

All of Y’lls advice is well appreciated. Thanks! When I wrote the OP, I forgot to mention that I had also gone to EBay for their quotes. However, I know real world experience is important in decision making.

Some of you suggested that I keep the 7D. I want to recoup some of the expense of the new 70D I just got, so I need to make a value judgement. Either the the 7D, or the 5D classic needs to go. I’m thinking I want to keep the 5D. I really like the idea of a full frame body. I took a couple side by side shots with both and the out-of-camera results are better with the 5D. I’ll post the later.

I'd keep the 5D personally, so long as you have the lenses to work with it.

Indeed, I do. When I started getting lenses, I knew I would be going to full frame. Some are EF, but got couple good deals with 24-105 and 100mm macro. O yeah there is of course a Tamron and sigma or two.

Well - - I'll tell ya - -
After picking up the Canon 80D, then looking around for what I could get for my 7D Mk-1 - -
I'm just gonna keep the 7D as a second body, maybe hang a lens on it to minimize lens swapping
And call it DONE
