Crested Pigeons are a common sight throughout Australia. In most areas, they are incorrectly called a Topknot Pigeon, which is a different species altogether. Crested Pigeons are gregarious & are a common sight in towns & around farms. They can become quite friendly & this one was photographed almost at my feet. As a matter of fact, I had to walk backwards to keep it far enough away to focus, as it kept following me, lol. Downloading is recommended.

Beautiful bird and good shots, Earl. Not sure I'd crop as closely though.

Nice sharp images, Earl. Friendly pigeons become sauce piquant in Lousiana.

Lol. These are hardly cropped at all. The minimum focal length I had was 200mm (300mm equiv on my D7100). I had just been shooting pellies at 'normal' distances & the bird was at my feet, so I had to keep walking backwards to fit him in the frame--he was too close. Just a case of having the wrong lens on at the time. Earl.
