Does anyone still shoot this camera if so how do you like its picture IQ?
Yes, The IQ is excellent.
I have it, iq is good but the lcd is very small and I find it awkward to make setting changes with the menus. And you probably know, it shoots only stills, no video. But it's a great camera. I do find that if I crop heavily there is noticeable loss of IQ, I guess this is since it's 11MP.

Which one, they have 4 different versions of this camera?
These images, were taken with a 1Ds, and a 24-105 mm L lens. 11 MPs. It is a great camera. IQ is outstanding. I have printed 11x14's with ease, crystal clear and sharp.
There are 4 different shades of blue in these pictures. All are identifiable.
Is it old, yes. Remember, this camera sold for around 10 grand brand new. The menu and lcd are dated. But do not let that stop you, from buying a full frame pro camera for next to nothing. I bought mine off of ebay for 230 dollars. Soon after that, I found the 1Ds mark lll for 600 on craigs list.
I have a 1Ds, a 1Ds mark lll and a 1D mark lll. So my opinion might be a little biased.
I have good glass, so when I leave the house, I have a 70-200 mm L on the 1Ds. My 24-105 L on the 1ds lll and a 300 mm L on the 1D.
I will put my "older" cameras images up against the new ones any day. Same shot, same settings, I would bet American money that, not to many people could pick out one from the other.
The money you save on a 1d body, could go along way in buying a good lens.
Thanks for the input I did buy the camera only 10k shutter count in great shape. Your correct good glass is very important I would rather buy a nice lens and a older body any day of the week. Nice pictures.
