I have a Nikon D5200. Its overwhelming how much there is to learn but its also very rewarding. I'm looking forward to learning on this forum.

Great camera and welcome. Started my photography in 1968 (Wow 50 years) and still don't know it all. I just sound like it at times. They keep changing the tools and the targets. Good luck.

Welcome. I've been learning for many years. That's one of the many aspects of photography I enjoy, learning something new then applying what I've learned and getting better. I've learned over the years one of the best ways to learn is with the right books. Read some then practice, practice, practice; then repeat. Someday I hope to even be good at photography, but for now, learn and apply and have fun.

Welcome,
I have been taking pictures for 45 years +/-
I have just begun "photography" like you only at 63.
Good luck to you. Time and practice. The reason we are here is not to practice incorrectly.

Welcome to the UHH. Yes, that is a fine camera. They really all are. Not sure how one could have a bad digital camera. We'll all want to know what lens or lenses you have and what you like to photograph. Have you taken any classes or read any photography books yet. It is a continuous learning process. If you eventually ever think you know everything, you are just kidding yourself, and you don't. You'll find an abundance of information and opinions on the Ugly Hedgehog. At times an overwhelming amount.

From what I can tell people come to this site and photography from many directions. Some are professional working photographers, others sell photographic materials and equipment. Many of us are retired. Some come from an art field, background or training, others engineering. I come from a science background. I've been doing photography seriously since around 1978. Initially learned film and wet chemistry photography. Worked with various cameras and formats from 35mm to 8x10" film! You can see from my Tag Line that I like Pentax cameras. I also own a number other brands of lenses. Enjoy!

Oh, I'm 63, and I also love Music, Dogs, Cats, and collect Sea Shells and Recorded Music. And my wife tolerates and in fact encourages my involvement with photography. And we've been married for 33 years.

Just take it slow, and read the camera manual a few times. There are more options and such than there ever were with the old film cameras. You'll get there!
Photography is such a great hobby!
